The Purpose of Drilling

The Purpose of Drilling , how to drilling oil
Drilling Rig

In the world's oil is inseparable from the name Drilling activity. Drilling alone so many kinds.  For this time I discussed Drilling swivel or what is often called Rotary Drilling. Immediately following is the purpose of drilling itself:
1. As the fluid exit (from the reservoir to the ground, eg production wells) and a fluid entrance (from the ground to the reservoir, for example injection wells).
2. to investigate the circumstances of the underground. And with logging or core analysis can know:
• Fill the content of rocks
• Kinds / types / rock properties
• The per layer / correlation / distribution of rock
• Age / depositional history.

Various kinds of drilling activities, among others:
1. EXPLORATION, which is one of the drilling process that aims to prove the existence of oil in an oil reservoir that is in the earth. The first exploration well was drilled called WILD CAT.

2. Appraisal (Formation Rate), which is to evaluate the state of the reservoir after going through the process of research presence or absence of oil in an oil reservoir that is in the earth.

3. EXPLOITATION (Development), which is an advanced stage of the process where the drilling process under way to increase production of oil and or gas. This exploitation is the core process of a drilling process, therefore the necessary performance and cooperation in this process to get the oil as possible at minimum cost.

This drilling occurs Due to the round chisel or bit. Bit tied and played with a drill string consisting of drill pipe, drill cooler and join the drill accompanied by eye. Cutting raised to the surface from a borehole with drilling fluid intermediary ie terud mud circulating inside the drill pipe. Mud returning to the surface, put it back into some swimming in the hope of shale drilling will settle. Mud that has clean then adjusted to the desired properties so it can be pumped by a mud pump to circulate back. The advantage to the use of rotary drill are:

1. provide advances in drilling because the process is faster.
2. can minimize the chances of a blow-out because of the hydrostatic pressure in the pipe can be controlled.
3. can be used for directional drilling where drilling direction is determined through a tool called DYNA DRILL .

4. can be done for drilling in.
