Introduction
• Geology from the Greek: geo and
logos, is define as the study of the Earth, but now it must include the study
of the planets and moons in our solar system. Geology is Generally divided into
two broad areas - Physical Geology and Historical Geology.
• Physical Geology: is the study of
Earth materials, such as minerals and rocks, as well as the processes operating
witin earths and on its surface (Monroe, et.al, 2007).
• Historical Geology: examines the
origin and evolution of Earth, its continents, oceans, atmosphere, and life.
People studying Geology caused by two
(2) things:
Because of the desire to know the
symptoms as well as the pervasive nature singularity and see or even
feel, for example: the eruption of volcanoes, earthquakes, the mountains
towering etc.
Because of economic reasons to pursue
prosperity that our need for raw materials, fuel, etc. derived from the earth.
